They did it again. Tramp and his crew at Eternal threw another whopping shindig, filled the house with talent from every end of the earth, and brought in more fresh skins than we could all get to in a week.
The thing to realize about tattoo conventions is how different they all feel. This one feels like a Detroit gig to me. Tramp knows what he’s doing so the whole show is solid. The content is high quality. Straightforward, lean on glimmer and glitz, layered with what is simply badass. This is the kind of show that old fashioned tattooed folk enjoy, and one for younger artists who are serious about studying the works and ways of the best artists, face to face.
What did Voluta do? Got our feet wet, really. Conan hasn’t hit the convention circuit much these past few years as he stayed close to home to found Voluta. He was glad to take it slow and ease back into the lifestyle. Jaydee did not attend this show but went back to Cali to lay some ink and visit old friends. Conan spent his time working the booth, talking to people, studying the countless styles and approaches to tattoo, and mingling. Michele moved like lightening, setting up and tearing down the booth, charming everyone and competing in the Best Large Color category with her back tattoo. No, she didn’t win, but she looked real good doing it!
Conan also tattooed a bunch, even went up early to the convention to make sure one gal got both pieces done in the same weekend.
We would love to see you come to the conventions with us. We will be sending a regular mailer to those interested, so be sure to sign up. We will tell you all about the shows upcoming and who all is going. Big fun!
