Voluta Tattoo launches her Fine Art Studio and Gallery!

Our mission: To show regular folk that tattoo is fine art. Period. It’s not KIND of art, or ALMOST art. It is as ancient and beautiful as any other medium that has endured. One of the founding principles of Voluta is to carry this message to our community. This way folks will not settle for the old ‘parlor’ ink.

The Stutz Artists Annual Open House sets the stage and opens the mind for just such a message. The building opens doors and gushes art from every corner. People wander, lost and muttering, jaws slack and eyes wide at the sheer wave of fine art that overtakes them. Seventy-plus studios will open their doors and tell the world the truth:
The Stutz is a powerhouse of creation in the Midwest.

Voluta keeps two separate studios in the Stutz, one for creations in traditional media and one for tattoo. These spaces fuel each other. They are linked by the artists who create and are created between them.

The Voluta Tattoo Fine Art Space

This is our creative nook for Voluta Tattoo artists. In this room we paint, draw, take and teach lessons. We swap artistic wisdom.  Mental blocks are blasted. Humility and clarity is maintained. The Mind’s Eye sees through.

On these walls we loosely hang our works, show them and sell them. We engage the community about the art side of Fine Art Tattoo. We drink wine and laugh as a family. Enlightened, we then move our greater vision directly to our sister studio, just down the hall. To your tattoo.

Voluta’s Fine Art Tattoo Studio

Our formal tattoo studio is home to intelligent body art collectors the world over. Entrance is by appointment only. The studio is relaxing and warm, designed to mellow the minds of those being tattooed. Sensations of an outside world are reduced. The privacy, size and ergonomics of the space allow for connection between artist and collector. We know this is how the best tattoos are made.

These spaces link the artist to the technician. They soften the R to L mode shift of the human brain while tattooing. This integrated study of art and science is brings you a better tattoo.

We hope to see you at The Stutz Artists Annual Open House! Our new space is located on the first floor, just across from the lovely Stutz automobiles, accessed from either end of the alley during the show. We’ll be selling original works, jewelry and swag, meeting folks and answering questions. Come visit!
